Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team upped its ODAC regular-season winning streak to 56-straight matches and avenged a non-conference loss to Randolph-Macon over last weekend with a 30-27, 30-26, 29-31, 24-30, 15-13 win over the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (9-4, 4-0) were paced by sophomore outside hitter Laura Maurer (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII), who tallied 14 kills and 24 digs. Senior Ashley Hurt (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Trinity Prep) posted 12 kills and eight digs, while sophomore right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) added nine kills, 15 digs and six blocks. Freshman middle blocker Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) also tallied nine kills and eight blocks, and junior right side Jess Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) chipped in seven kills and 16 digs.
Junior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) registered 28 assists and 18 digs, while senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) amassed 32 digs, the second-highest total for a match in school history.
With the loss, Randolph-Macon fell to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday as it hosts Randolph-Macon Woman's College for a 7:00 pm contest.
