Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team upped its winning streak against ODAC opponents to 79-straight matches with a 30-15, 30-22, 30-11 win over Emory & Henry on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (5-0, 1-0), who haven't lost a match to an ODAC school since the 2000 ODAC Championship match, amassed 22 service aces in the contest led by freshman outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) and junior right side Jess Hudock (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names), who each had five. Phillips added five kills and five blocks, while Hudock also contributed seven digs.
Sophomore right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) posted a team-high eight kills and eight digs and sophomore outside hitter Alex Scaggs (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) notched seven kills. Freshman setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) had a team-high 18 assists, while senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) registered a team-best nine digs.
With the loss, the Wasps dropped to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday evening when it travels to Christopher Newport for a 6:00 pm contest. The Generals will also play at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at noon.
