EMORY, Va. -- Emory & Henry nailed 18-of-32 (.563) three-point attempts and held a 50-39 advantage on the boards in posting a 94-66 victory over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon in Emory, Va.
The Generals (11-14, 8-12) held a slim 11-9 lead with 15:27 remaining in the first half, but the Wasps used a 26-8 run over the next 7:01 to assume a 35-19 lead with 8:26 left en route to a 52-31 lead at the break.
Emory & Henry (11-14, 9-11) hit 10 of its 18 three-pointers in the first half and forced 23 W&L turnovers in the victory.
W&L was paced by sophomore forward Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy), who tallied 20 points and seven steals. Freshman guard Bethany Ridenhour (Westwood, N.J./Holy Angels) notched 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the floor, while junior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) added 11 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks. Senior guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) chipped in 10 points as well.
E&H was led by sophomore guard Lauren Habel's 27 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Freshman guard Miranda Carrasco tallied 12 points, as did senior guard Brooke Barker, who also notched seven assists and five steals. Freshman forward Casey Williams contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.
Washington and Lee will now be the eighth seed for the upcoming ODAC Tournament and will face top-seeded Randolph-Macon on Thursday.
