W&L Women’s Basketball Knocked Off By Guilford, 63-56

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford senior guard Jennifer King scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Quakers to a 63-56 win over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Wednesday evening in Greensboro, N.C.

The Generals (11-13, 8-11) led 25-22 at the break and extended to a 38-28 lead just 5:46 into the second half. However, Guilford (10-14, 9-10) went on a 27-8 run over the next 9:07 to assume a 55-46 advantage with 5:07 remaining in the game. W&L then went on a 10-2 run to slice to a 57-56 game with 52 seconds remaining, but could get no closer as the Quakers went 6-of-6 from the foul line in the final 31 seconds.

W&L was paced by sophomore forward Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy), who tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) posted 16 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals, while junior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) added 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

King's effort was aided by 10 points and 17 rebounds from freshman forward Kristine Ellis and 12 points from freshman guard Brittany Bumgarner.

Washington and Lee will conclude its regular season on Saturday as it travels to Emory & Henry for a 4:00 pm contest.
