ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team dropped a pair of Centennial Conference matches at the Muhlenberg College Triangular on Saturday afternoon. The Generals fell to the host Mules, 27-9, then dropped a 43-3 decision to Ursinus College.
In the loss to Muhlenberg (8-5, 6-2), sophomore Jesse Sataloff (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh), junior Max Courtney (Jeffersonville, Pa./LaSalle College) and freshman John Christopher (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) all picked up victories. Sataloff defeated John Hesse (4-2) at 174 pounds, Courtney downed Matt Horn (6-2) at 184 pounds, and Christopher notched a 4-1 win over Chris Swensen at heavyweight.
Against Ursinus (15-1-1, 5-0), Christopher picked up the Generals' lone victory with a 10-8 decision over Matt Williams at heavyweight.
Washington and Lee (5-5, 3-4) will return to action next Saturday as it competes in the Centennial Conference Championships held at Johns Hopkins. The event begins at 10:00 am.
