LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee shot a season-high 58.9 percent from the field in posting a 91-68 win over Eastern Mennonite in ODAC men's basketball action on Saturday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (4-18, 4-13) took the lead for good at 7-5 with 17:59 remaining in the first half and shot 60.7 percent in the half en route to a 46-35 lead at the break. EMU sliced the lead to two points (63-61) with 8:29 remaining in the game, but W&L went on a 17-0 run to assume a commanding 80-61 lead with 4:18 left in the contest.
Junior guard Chris Halkitis (New Port Richey, Fla./Ridgewood) paced four Generals in double figures with a season-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Freshman guard Isaiah Goodman (Richfield, Minn./Holy Angels) notched 15 points and dished five assists, while sophomore forward John Mumper (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) registered 15 points and four assists. Junior forward Alex White (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) chipped in a career-high 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the floor.
Eastern Mennonite (11-13, 6-11) was led by senior forward E.J. Arrington's (Staunton, Va./Stuarts Draft) 16 points. Junior center Jason Lentz (Diana, W.Va./Webster County) and sophomore guard Korey Whiting (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) added 12 points each.
Washington and Lee will conclude its season on Tuesday as it travels to Guilford for a 7:00 pm contest.
