W&L Women’s Basketball Defeats Hollins, 90-26

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore guard Bethany Ridenhour (Westwood, N.J./Holy Angels) led five W&L players in double-figures with a career-high 16 points as the Washington and Lee women's basketball team set program records for points scored and largest margin of victory with a 90-26 win over Hollins on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals (3-1,1-0 ODAC) jumped out to a 24-0 lead with 15:38 to play in the first half and extended their advantage to 49-12 at the break. The 64-point victory eclipsed the former record of 55 (87-32) set against Mary Baldwin in 1998, while the 90 points bettered the 89 points scored against Emory & Henry last season.

Junior forward Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy), junior guard Emily Wolff (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton), junior forward Amanda Kane (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) and senior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) joined Ridenhour by tallying double-digits. Krouchick notched 15 points, while Wolff added a career-high 14 markers. Kane scored 12 points and Hunsinger chipped in 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Senior guard Sarah Otey (Williamsburg, Va./Hampton-Roads) registered a career-high 10 assists.

Hollins (0-3, 0-1 ODAC) was led by sophomore center Emily Long (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity), who tallied 18 points and nine rebounds.

W&L hits the road this weekend for a two-game ODAC swing, facing reigning league champion Randolph-Macon on Friday at 7:00 pm and then tipping off against Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
