MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved to 23-6 overall with a 30-23, 30-20, 30-24 win over Huntingdon College on Friday evening in the opening match of the Maryville College Tournament.

The Generals were led by sophomore outside hitter Alex Scaggs (West Chester, Pa./Unionville), who tallied 12 kills. Sophomore right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) notched 11 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Abbey Wilson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) totaled six blocks.

Junior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) registered 22 assists, 16 digs and two service aces, while senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) posted 14 digs and climbed to within 13 digs of breaking her own W&L season record of 511 digs.

Washington and Lee will complete its play in the Maryville Tournament on Saturday as it takes on Rhodes at 1:30 pm and Maryville at 4:00 pm.
