W&L Volleyball Upends Roanoke, 3-1

ROANOKE, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team completed its sixth-straight ODAC regular season without a conference loss by defeating Roanoke College, 30-25, 25-30, 30-18, 30-25, on Wednesday evening on the campus of Hollins University.

W&L, which has now won 62 consecutive regular season conference matches, was led by senior outside hitter Ashley Hurt's (Altamonte Springs, Fla./Trinity Prep) 20 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Laura Maurer (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) tallied 16 kills and 22 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Kassie Bagley (Midlothian, Va./James River) posted seven blocks. Junior setter Lauren Rudolph (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) amassed 30 assists and senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) registered 25 digs and four service aces.

With the win, the Generals improved to 22-6 overall and 10-0 in the ODAC. Roanoke fell to 17-10 overall and 7-3 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee, which will be the top seed for the upcoming ODAC Tournament, returns to action on Friday as it competes in the Maryville Tournament. The Generals will face Huntingdon at 6:00 pm.
