LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The 17th-ranked Washington and Lee women's soccer team posted its 15th-straight shutout and extended its unbeaten streak to 15 in a row with a 1-0 victory at Lynchburg College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Generals broke a scoreless tie at the 33:43 mark when freshman midfielder Roz Klann (Denver, Colo./George Washington) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore defender Marissa Van Brunt (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville).
W&L's defense, which has yet to allow a goal this season, held the rest of the way as the Generals improved to 13-0-2 overall and 7-0-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Sophomore goalkeeper Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) manned the net for all 90 minutes, making five saves.
Ashley Stern played all 90 minutes in goal for the Hornets, posting four stops. The loss dropped Lynchburg to 10-5-1 overall and 6-4 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it hosts Roanoke College for an 11:00 am contest.
