W&L Women's Soccer Shuts Out North Carolina Wesleyan, 4-0

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Sophomore forward Anne Van Devender (Jackson, Miss./Choate Rosemary Hall) tallied two goals and one assist as the 18th-ranked Washington and Lee women's soccer team notched its 13-straight shutout, 4-0, over North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Senior forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) scored first for the Generals off an assist from freshman defender Maggie Sutherland (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) at 4:50 to take a 1-0 lead into the half.

Van Devender opened the scoring in the second half with two goals, before junior midfielder Mary Clair Turner (Lexington, Ky./Sayre School) found the back of the net off an assist from Van Devender in the 65th minute to produce the 4-0 final.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) picked up her eighth win, while Bryanne Godfrey and Sarah Hess combined to make 12 saves for N.C. Wesleyan (4-7-1).

The Generals (11-0-2), who have not allowed a goal all season, look to continue their unbeaten streak on Sunday when they face Greensboro at 1:00 pm.
