LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team improved to 17-4 overall and 7-0 in the ODAC with a 30-8, 30-19, 30-9 win over Sweet Briar on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals were paced by sophomore outside hitter Alex Scaggs (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) and sophomore middle blocker Kassie Bagley (Midlothian, Va./James River), who posted 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Freshman outside hitter Katie Dunphy (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) notched eight kills, 13 digs and six service aces, while freshman right side Jessica Bunnell (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) registered six kills and six digs. Freshman setter Megan Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) recorded a team-high 15 assists and five digs.
The loss dropped Sweet Briar to 3-12 overall and 1-5 in the ODAC.
Washington and Lee returns to action this weekend as it participates in the Southwestern Invitational in Georgetown, Texas. The Generals face Hardin-Simmons in the opening match on Friday at 1:00 pm.
