LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee had 12 different players crack the scoring column in a 78-53 win over Hollins in ODAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Warner Center.
The Generals (4-6, 3-4) jumped out to a 19-2 lead in the opening 5:57 of the game and never looked back in claiming the 25-point victory.
W&L shot 51.5 percent from the floor led by junior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School), who scored 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. She also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots. Sophomore forward Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy) notched 13 points, while sophomore guard Emily Wolff (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) tallied 11 points. Senior guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) dished out a career-high nine assists.
Hollins (0-10, 0-7) was paced by senior forward LeighAnn Woodley's (Salem, Va./Glenvar) 21 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Junior forward Ashley Lewis (Concord, Va./Rustburg) registered 15 points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Coby Wilmer (Buena Vista, Va./Parry McCluer) added 12 points and seven boards.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Tuesday as it hosts Roanoke for a 7:00 pm contest.
