W&L Women's Basketball Defeats Emory & Henry, 89-75

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee scored a school-record 89 points and pulled down a school-record 64 rebounds in an 89-75 victory over Emory & Henry in ODAC women's basketball action on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals (5-11, 4-9) jumped out to an 8-3 lead at the 18:06 mark and held the lead until Wasps' freshman guard Miranda Carrasco (Roanoke, Va./William Byrd) knocked down a three-pointer to give E&H a 23-22 edge with 9:22 remaining in the first half and the Wasps carried a 42-39 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the two teams battled back and forth until W&L took the lead for good (62-61) at the 10:09 mark on a layup by senior guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill). The Generals pushed their advantage to as many as 16 points (79-63) with 4:00 left en route to the victory.

The Generals were led by sophomore forward Kristen Krouchick (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy), who tied her career-high with 26 points and seven rebounds. W&L also had three players record a double-double for the first time in school history. Feve finished with season-highs of 16 points and 10 rebounds to go with her game-high six assists. Junior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./The Orme School) added 15 points, 15 boards and a game-high seven blocks, while freshman forward Kara Nadeau (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) notched 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.

E&H (6-11, 4-8) was led by sophomore guard Lauren Habel's (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville) 19 points, while Carrasco finished with 17 points and four rebounds.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Mary Baldwin for a 7:00 pm contest.
