LEXINGTON, Va. -- Bridgewater College limited Washington and Lee to just 27.7 percent shooting from the floor en route to a 70-47 win over the Generals in ODAC men's basketball action on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Eagles (6-10, 3-7) led from the opening tip and extended their advantage to as many as 29 points (64-35) in the second half. BC shot 52.9 percent from the floor while its defense recorded 13 steals and blocked eight shots.
Washington and Lee (2-12, 2-7) was paced by freshman guard Isaiah Goodman (Richfield, Minn./Holy Angels) and freshman forward Kirk Jones (Maple Glenn, Pa./Germantown Academy), who scored eight points each.
Bridgewater was led by senior forward Clay Michael (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman), who tallied 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sophomore forward Josh Fox (Staunton, Va./Riverheads) also notched 11 points, while freshman forward Michael Oblitey (Chantilly, Va./Westfield) and junior forward Josh Maupin (Stuarts Draft, Va./Stuarts Draft) chipped in 10 points apiece.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Saturday as it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for a 4:30 pm contest.
