W&L Women’s Basketball Falls To RMWC, 77-69

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Randolph-Macon Woman's College used a 13-3 run late in the second half to secure a 77-69 win over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Sunday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va.

The game featured 10 ties and seven lead changes until the WildCats (4-8, 3-6) broke open a 60-60 tie at the 6:19 mark with the aforementioned run that gave them a 73-63 lead with 1:28 remaining in the game.

Washington and Lee (4-10, 3-8) was paced by sophomore forward Kristen Krouchick's (Holland, Pa./Nazareth Academy) career-high 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Junior center Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) notched 18 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Emily Wolff (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.

RMWC was led by junior guard Sara Rechnitzer's 26 points on 10-of-10 shooting from the foul line. Senior forward Jennifer Prewitt notched 16 points and 11 rebounds, while senior forward Meghan Stensrud added 15 points and 12 boards.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Bridgewater for a 7:00 pm contest.
