BALTIMORE, Md. -- Senior midfielder Meighan Roose notched a goal and an assist to help lead the Johns Hopkins field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Washington and Lee on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore, Md.
The Blue Jays (2-2) took a 1-0 lead at the 18:38 mark when junior midfielder Leah Dudley scored off an assist from freshman midfielder Leah Horton. Johns Hopkins took a 2-0 lead into halftime when Roose scored at the 29:39 mark off a feed from sophomore midfielder Lori Vislocky. The Blue Jays ended the scoring when Roose set up senior forward Caite Kappel at 48:58.
The Generals (0-1) were outshot 22-5, while Johns Hopkins had a 16-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Senior goalkeeper Courtney Harrison (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) made a school-record 16 saves for the Generals, while junior netminder Dayna Eng stopped four shots for the Blue Jays.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday at Catholic. The game begins at 1:00 pm.
