W&L Men's Basketball Defeated by Randolph-Macon, 71-42

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Randolph-Macon shot 57.4 percent (27-of-47) from the floor in defeating Washington and Lee, 71-42, in ODAC men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Warner Center.

The 11th-ranked Yellow Jackets (4-1, 2-0) jumped out to an 18-4 lead and never looked back in posting the 29-point victory. W&L managed just 34.7 percent (17-of-49) shooting in the game.

Washington and Lee (0-7, 0-2) was led by sophomore forward Greg Bienemann (Chatham, N.J./Chatham), who scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. Classmate Femi Kusimo (Charleston, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) added eight points in the losing effort.

Randolph-Macon was paced by senior forward Justin Wansley's (Richmond, Va./Henrico) 16 points and five assists. Junior guard Stephen Sutherland (Morgantown, W.Va./Fairmont) notched 10 points, while freshman guard Justin Short (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) chipped in nine points.

Washington and Lee returns to the court on Sunday as it hosts Virginia Wesleyan. Opening tip is slated for 4:30 pm.
