W&L Volleyball Defeats Randolph-Macon Woman's, 3-0

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The top-seeded Washington and Lee volleyball team improved to 25-7 overall with a 30-25, 30-17, 30-15 victory over eighth-seeded Randolph-Macon Woman's College in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals were led by sophomore outside hitter Laura Maurer's (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) 10 kills, 10 digs and three service aces. Sophomore right side Jessica Ulrich (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) tallied nine kills, nine digs, four service aces and two blocks, while sophomore middle blockers Kassie Bagley (Midlothian, Va./James River) and Abbie Wilson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) notched seven kills each. Freshman setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) racked up a team-high 28 assists and senior libero Lauren Edmonson (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) posted 20 digs.

With the loss, R-MWC ended its season at 8-19 overall.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the semifinals and finals of the ODAC Tournament. The Generals will play fifth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals at 11:00 am. The final is slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
