W&L Women's Soccer Ties Eastern Mennonite, 0-0

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Eastern Mennonite junior goalkeeper Joy Shaiebly (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) made 16 saves to help to Royals to a 0-0 double-overtime tie against No. 24 Washington and Lee in ODAC women's soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field.

The Generals put constant pressure on Shaiebly and the Royals defense throughout the game by outshooting EMU, 30-3, but Shaiebly was up to the task.

W&L extended its unbeaten streak to 15 consecutive games, while improving to 12-1-3 overall and 9-0-3 in the ODAC. It also tied the school record of 11 shutouts, which was set during the 2003 season. Eastern Mennonite fell to 8-6-3 overall and 6-3-2 in the ODAC.

Freshman goalkeeper Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) played all 110 minutes for the Generals.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament at Watt Field. The opponent and time are still to be determined.
