LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore forward Shana Oltmans (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley) scored two goals and junior forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) notched a goal and two assists to help lead Washington and Lee to its school-record sixth consecutive shutout with a 5-0 victory over Sweet Briar in ODAC women's soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Watt Field.
The Generals (8-1-2, 7-0-1) took a 1-0 lead at the 8:48 mark when Oltmans scored off a feed from Wiltshire. Just over seven minutes later, Wiltshire tallied an unassisted goal to make it 2-0. Oltmans then gave W&L a 3-0 lead heading into halftime on an unassisted tally at 32:25.
In the second half, senior midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) took a pass from Wiltshire and buried her shot into the back of the Vixens' goal to give W&L a 4-0 lead at 51:13. Freshman defender Marisa Van Brunt (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) ended the scoring with her first collegiate goal at the 75:30 mark.
W&L outshot the Vixens, 35-0, and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper Kiki Moreo (Westport, Conn./Staples) played the first 45 minutes in goal for the Generals, while junior Emily Binns (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) was between the posts for the final 45 minutes. Freshman netminder Kristen Johnson (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur) played the entire game and made 17 saves for the Vixens (4-9-1, 1-7-1).
Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday at Roanoke for a 4:00 pm contest.
