GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team posted a 2-1 record while competing in the Gettysburg Quad meet on Saturday afternoon. The Generals defeated Centennial Conference-foe Gettysburg, 25-17, and downed Pensacola Christian, 38-9, before falling to Davidson, 37-12.
Freshman 197-pounder Kirk Adamson (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) went 3-0 for the day, pinning Gettysburg's Mike Pattanite in 4:06 at heavyweight. He then won by forfeit at 197 pounds against PCC and defeated Davidson's Jayson Powers (7-3) at 197-pounds.
Freshman 174-pounder Jessup Sataloff (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) also went 3-0, defeating GC's Daniel Donnelly (8-7) and downing Davidson's Morgan Koukopoulos (10-4). He also won his match against Pensacola Christian by forfeit.
Washington and Lee (2-1, 1-0) returns to action on Saturday as it hosts the W&L Invitational at 10:00 am.
