W&L Women's Soccer Defeats Hollins, 10-0

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) scored two goals and junior midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) handed out three assists to lead the No. 23 Washington and Lee women's soccer team to a 10-0 victory over ODAC-foe Hollins University on Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field.

Wiltshire and Von Sternberg teamed up to give the Generals (4-0-2, 3-0-0) a 1-0 lead just 4:19 into the game. Wiltshire scored her second goal of the game just over five minutes later on a feed from freshman forward Shana Oltmans (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley). W&L extended its lead to 3-0 when Oltmans took a pass from Von Sternberg and found the back of the Hollins net at the 11:29 mark. The Generals scored four more goals in the first half to take a 7-0 lead into halftime.

Junior goalkeeper Lindsay Lucas (Centerville, Va./Thomas Jefferson) and freshman goalkeeper Leah Jackman (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) combined to make 10 saves for Hollins (1-3-0, 0-2-0), which was outshot 34-0 .

W&L junior goalkeeper Emily Binns (Midlothian, Va./Mount Vernon) picked up her first win of the year.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday at ODAC-rival Virginia Wesleyan. The game starts at 4:30 pm.
