EMORY, Va. -- Senior midfielder Brian Pirkle (Lexington, Va./Woodberrry Forest) scored two goals to lift the Washington and Lee men's soccer team past ODAC-foe Emory & Henry, 3-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Emory, Va.

The Generals (2-2-1, 1-0-1) took a 1-0 lead when Pirkle received a pass from senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta, Ga./Woodward Academy) and fired it into the back of the Wasps' goal at the 22:33 mark. Pirkle made it 2-0 four minutes later when he scored off a feed from sophomore forward Sandy Piracci (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill).

Freshman midfielder Josh Dodds (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar) scored at the 43:35 mark to give the Generals a 3-0 lead heading into halftime. Sophomore midfielder Tyrrell Burrus (Beaumont, Texas/Mgsr. Kelly Catholic) assisted on the goal.

Junior goalkeeper Robert Andrews made four saves for Emory & Henry (3-4, 1-1), which was outshot 16-4.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday at Hampden-Sydney. The game is slated to begin at 11:00 am.
