LEXINGTON, Va. -- Bridgewater College broke a 22-22 halftime tie with an 18-4 run over the first 8:15 of the second half in defeating Washington and Lee, 53-43, in ODAC men's basketball action on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (0-6, 0-1) shot just 33.3 percent from the floor and 10.5 percent from three-point range, while also committing 20 turnovers.
W&L was led by freshman forward Femi Kusimo (Charleston, W.Va./Charleston Catholic), who totaled 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Junior forward David Will (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) also notched 10 points and six boards.
Bridgewater (4-1, 1-0) was paced by senior guard Ricky Easterling (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk), who scored 15 points. Junior forward Clay Michael (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) added nine points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Randolph-Macon for a 2:00 pm contest.
