W&L Women's Soccer Shuts Out Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Freshman forward Shana Oltmans (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley) scored at the 11:32 mark to give the third-seeded Washington and Lee women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan in an ODAC Tournament semifinal game on Saturday afternoon at Lynchburg College.

Oltmans scored after she took a pass from junior midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) and put her shot past Virginia Wesleyan goalkeeper Laura Wiederwax.

Virginia Wesleyan outshot the Generals, 11-9, and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

Washington and Lee will be gunning for its third consecutive ODAC Championship when it plays top-seeded Lynchburg in the ODAC Tournament Championship Game on Sunday at Lynchburg. The game starts at 1:30 pm.
