COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team was in action at the Ursinus Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals were led by the freshmen trio of Peter Lawrence (Greenwich, Conn./Loomis-Chaffee), David Shubick (Bound Brook, N.J./Bound Brook) and Jesup Sataloff (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh).
Lawrence went 2-2 to place fourth in the 149-pound weight class. He defeated Josh Sabol of Ursinus, 3-1, and Michael Braun of The College of New Jersey, 8-3, but lost to Dale Mills of Muhlenberg, 14-6, and Rob Bozart of Elizabethtown, 5-3.
Shubick went 3-2 in the 125-pound weight class and Sataloff went 3-2 at 174 pounds. Shubick defeated Andy Lane of Ursinus, 10-4, Brandon Boulder of Albright, 17-6, and Josh Barrick of York, 2-1. Sataloff pinned Harvey Williams of Gallaudet before shuting out Jason Bell of Elizabethtown, 11-0, and Josh Jacobs of Muhlenberg, 6-0.
The Generals return to the mat on Sun., Dec. 5 at the Scranton Invitational. The meet begins at 9:00 am.
