GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Senior midfielder Justin Mygatt (Marietta, Ga./Woodward Academy) scored at the 72:22 mark to give the Washington and Lee men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over ODAC-rival Guilford College on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.
Mygatt took a pass from junior midfielder Brett Strohsacker (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) and buried the shot inside the left post.
With the win, the Generals improved to 4-3-3 overall and 2-0-3 in the ODAC. Guilford fell to 5-5-4 overall and 2-1-3 in the ODAC.
W&L freshman goalkeeper Jim Tartaglia (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) made three saves in the win. Sophomore goalkeeper Zane Campbell stopped two shots for the Quakers.
Both teams fired off nine shots while Guilford held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday at Eastern Mennonite. The game begins at 4:00 pm.
