LEXINGTON, Va. -- Four Yellow Jackets scored in double-figures as Randolph-Macon defeated Washington and Lee, 82-68, in ODAC women's basketball action on Friday evening at the Warner Center.
The Yellow Jackets (9-4, 7-1) connected on 21-of-38 (55.3%) from the field on their way to a 46-36 halftime lead, and extended that lead in the second half to finish the day 32-for-65 (49.2%) from the field. For the game the Generals (4-6, 2-4) shot 23-for-65 (35.4%) from the field and 17-for-27 (63.0%) from the foul line.
Freshman Sarah Otey (Williamsburg, Va./Hampton-Roads) led W&L with a career- and game-high 20 points, while freshman forward Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./The Orme School) and sophomore guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchhill) each contributed a double-double. Hunsinger scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, while Feve scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Sophomore center Michelle Orton (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) led Randolph-Macon with 18 points, while sophomore guard Megan Silva (Glen Allen, Va./Hermitage) scored 17 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Junior center Emily Crider (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and Henshaw rounded out the Yellow Jackets double-digit scorers with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Generals return to action Saturday when they host ODAC-foe Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
