EMORY, Va. -- Emory & Henry used a 14-0 run early in the first half for a 78-67 win over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals (8-9, 5-7) led 8-7 with 15:56 to play before E&H used its 14-point run over the next 2:58 to assume a 21-8 lead that it would not give up. Senior guard Dawn Chewning scored 10 points during the run.
Washington and Lee was led by sophomore guard Louisa Feve (Betheda, Md./Winston Churchill), who scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Freshman forward Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) notched 20 points and 12 rebounds, while junior guard Bethany Dannelly (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) added eight points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Emory & Henry (9-7, 6-5) was paced by Chewning, who tallied 19 points. Senior guard Danielle Moore contributed 18 points and five steals.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Eastern Mennonite for a 7:00 pm contest.
