SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team won its ODAC-opener on Tuesday evening, defeating Sweet Briar, 30-16, 30-19, 30-21. The win marked W&L's 21st straight regular season ODAC victory.

Junior outside hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) led the way with 11 kills and seven digs, while junior outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) recorded eight kills and eight digs. Sophomore outside hitter Ashleigh Overly (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) added nine kills and sophomore setter Christine Gladysz (Palm Harbor, Fla./Berkeley Prep) notched 18 assists.

The loss dropped the Vixens to 0-6 overall, 0-1 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee (5-0, 1-0) returns to action on Thursday as it hosts Emory & Henry for a 6:30 p.m. contest.
