GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford opened up a 24-5 first-half lead and knocked off Washington and Lee, 68-50, in ODAC women's basketball action on Saturday at the Ragan-Brown Fieldhouse.
A three-pointer by freshman guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) gave the Generals their only lead of the game at 3-0. The Quakers immediately responded with a 24-2 run to go ahead 24-5 with 8:51 remaining in the first half and cruised to the victory.
The Quakers, who shot 43.4 percent (23-for-53) from the field for the game, limited the Generals to 39.1 percent (18-of-46) shooting and forced them into 19 turnovers.
Pacing Guilford, which won its school-record 25th consecutive home game, were the trio of junior forwards Jackie Hardenbergh, Jennie Keichline and A.J. Robertson. Hardenbergh finished with 17 points and nine boards, while Keichline added 16 points and Robertson 12.
Sophomore forward Emily Barker's (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) career-high 21 points, along with eight boards and three blocks, led the Generals. Sophomore point guard Bethany Dannelly (Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe) chipped in with a career-high-tying 14 points.
With the loss, W&L wraps up its season with a 3-21 mark overall, 3-17 ODAC.
