W&L Women’s Basketball Falls To Bridgewater, 57-40

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Bridgewater used 54.2 percent shooting in the second half to sink Washington and Lee, 57-40, in ODAC women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at Nininger Hall.

The Generals (3-20, 3-16) led 17-16 with 3:57 remaining in the first half, but the Eagles used an 11-0 run over the end of the first half and opening 2:04 of the second half to assume a 27-17 lead in cruising to the win.

W&L was led by freshman guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) and sophomore forward Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon), who each tallied 10 points. Junior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) added eight points and nine rebounds. Sophomore point guard Bethany Dannelly (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) notched four assists to set a new W&L record for career assists surpassing the total of 228 set by Jessica Morton '00. Dannelly's total now stands at 232.

Bridgewater (10-14, 8-11) was led by Megan Forster, who totaled 13 points and six rebounds. Lindsay Andrews added 12 points in the winning effort.

Washington and Lee will complete its season on Saturday as it travels to Guilford for a 2:00 pm contest.
