W&L Men's Basketball Falls to Bridgewater, 72-63

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Bridgewater hit 18-of-23 second-half free throws to defeat Washington and Lee, 72-63, in men's basketball action on Tuesday evening at Nininger Hall.

The Eagles (14-11, 8-10) led 33-26 at the half, but the Generals would fight back to knot the score at 37-37 with 14:12 remaining in the game. However, the Eagles would push their lead back to double-digits and hold on for their sixth straight win over W&L.

Sophomore guard Ian McClure (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) led the Generals with 18 points, while sophomore guard Mike Stuart (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) contributed 14 points. Senior forward Scott Hettermann (Falls Church, Va./Landon) added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Bridgewater was led by sophomore guard Ricky Easterling's 14 points. Freshman forward Clay Micheal tallied 13 points and seven rebounds, while senior center Jeff Schwalm chipped in with 12 points and eight boards.

Washington and Lee (8-16, 5-13) will next participate in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament. The eighth-seeded Generals will face top-seeded Randolph-Macon on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
