W&L Women’s Basketball Downs Emory & Henry, 60-55

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee saw two players record double-doubles as the Generals defeated Emory & Henry, 60-55, in ODAC women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.

Freshman forward Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./The Orme School) led W&L (2-3, 2-1) with a game-high 17 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and a program record eight blocks. Sophomore guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Sarah Otey (Williamsburg, Va./Hampton-Roads) rounded out the Generals' double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Senior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) also grabbed 10 boards for W&L.

Emory & Henry (2-1, 0-1) was led senior forward Erin Connelly (Morganton, N.C./Freedom) who notched a double-double off of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Brooke Barker (Rogersville, Tenn./Cherokee) also scored double digits with 10 points, while grabbing nine rebounds for the Wasps.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday, when the Generals travel to St. Mary's (Md.) for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
