W&L Men's Basketball Falls at Bridgewater, 66-51

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Bridgewater used a 12-3 run in the first half and a 22-6 run in the second half as the Eagles subdued Washington and Lee, 66-51, in ODAC men's basketball action on Wednesday evening in Bridgewater, Va.

With the scoreboard notched 19-17 in Bridgewater's (4-2, 2-1) favor at 7:16 in the first half, the Eagles exploded to outscore the Generals (2-5, 1-1) across the next 4:37 to give themselves a 31-20 lead with 2:39 remaining before the break.

Washington and Lee managed two more points before halftime and started the second stanza down, 31-22. The game remained close until Bridgewater managed a 22-6, game-deciding run from 14:07 to 5:57 left in the game.

The Generals were led by junior guard Mike Stuart's (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier) team-high 13 points, while sophomore forward David Will (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) rounded out W&L's double-digit scorers with 10 points. Sophomore forward Phil Landes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mariemont) led the Generals with six rebounds.

Ricky Easterling connected on 7-for-13 from the field to lead Bridgewater with a game-high 19 points, while Ryan Lambert rounded out the Eagles' double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Washington and Lee shot 20-for-51 (39.2%) from the field and connected on 7-for-11 (63.6%) from the charity stripe.

Bridgewater shot 25-for-47 (53.2%) from the field, 10-for-15 (66.7%) from the foul line and made 6-for-13 (46.2%) from beyond the three-point arc.

The Generals will break for finals and the Christmas holiday before returning to the Warner Center court on Dec. 30 for a 7:00 p.m. game with Trinity (Conn.).
