LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman forward Anne Wiltshire (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) scored the game-winner as the Washington and Lee women's soccer team defeated Randolph-Macon Woman's College, 2-1, in ODAC action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Generals (7-0-1, 5-0) took an early 1-0 lead when sophomore midfielder Kerry Giblin (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./North Highlands Reg.) buried a cross from sophomore defender Heather Rogers (Atlanta, Ga./Lovett School) 14 minutes into the contest.
Following a W&L foul at 21:11, junior forward Lyndsey Pelham (Portland, Ore./Sky View) put the WildCats on the board and tied the game, blasting a 25-yard free kick into the right-side netting.
Wiltshire scored her gamewinner at 37:12 off an assist from freshman midfielder Rebecca Cohn (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Acad.). The goal proved to be the last of the day, as neither team could find the net in the second half.
The Generals had a 26-3 advantage in shots and a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman Emily Binns (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) made two saves in the W&L net, while senior Amy Dameron (Fredricksburg, Va./Courtland) made 10 stops for the WildCats.
