W&L Women’s Basketball Defeated By Eastern Mennonite, 69-47

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Eastern Mennonite surged out to an 11-2 lead in the opening 5:09 and cruised to a 69-47 win over Washington and Lee in ODAC women's basketball action on Wednesday evening at the EMU Student Commons.

W&L (1-6, 1-4), which shot just 2-of-29 from the floor in the first half, was led by freshman guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill), who tallied 18 points, four rebounds and four assists. Junior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) contributed 15 points.

Eastern Mennonite (8-2, 4-2) was paced by Carrie Grandstaff's 15 points and five rebounds. Amanda Renalds and Stephanie Mathews added 12 points and seven rebounds each.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday evening as it hosts Virginia Wesleyan for a 7:00 pm contest.
