W&L Men's Basketball Dropped by Randolph-Macon, 71-46

ASHLAND, Va. -- The fourth-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team used a 9-0 run over the final 1:13 of the first half and first 2:38 of the second to push out to a 37-23 lead and then cruised to a 71-46 victory over Washington and Lee on Sunday afternoon in Ashland, Va.

W&L (5-10, 2-8 ODAC), which shot 31.6 percent from the field (12-of-38), hit on just 3-of-15 second-half offerings as it was unable to mount a comeback. Conversely, the Yellow Jackets (17-1, 10-1 ODAC) made 53.6 percent of their shots for the game (30-of-56), including 17-for-29 in the second half.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior forward Jared Mills who totaled 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Tim Smith joined him in double figures, finishing with 11.

Freshman forward David Will (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) paced the Generals with 16 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Wes McAdams (Durham, N.C./Durham Academy) contributed eight points.

The Generals will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to McDaniel for a 7:00 pm game.
