W&L Women’s Basketball Falls To Hollins, 63-48

HOLLINS, Va. -- Sophomore guard Brandi Cochran (Hillsville, Va./Carroll County) scored a game-high 22 points to lead Hollins University past Washington and Lee, 63-48, in ODAC women's basketball action on Tuesday evening.

Hollins (5-4, 2-4) extended a 28-20 halftime advantage to 36-20 with an 8-0 run to start the second half. The Generals (1-9, 1-7) closed to within 45-38 with 7:39 remaining in the game, but could get no closer.

Freshman guard Coby Wilmer (Buena Vista, Va./Parry McCluer) complimented Cochran's effort with 17 points, 12 rebounds, six steals and five assists.

W&L was led by freshman guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) and junior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy), who each scored 13 points. Sophomore forward Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) added 10 points.

Washington and Lee will return to action on Friday as it travels to Randolph-Macon for a 7:00 pm contest.
