HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee field hockey team dropped its match with ODAC-rival Eastern Mennonite, 3-0, Friday evening at Harrisonburg, Va.
Eastern Mennonite's (5-2, 3-1 ODAC) Kristin Moyer staked the Royals to a 1-0 advantage when she scored the first of her two goals with 23:13 to play in the first half off a feed from Jessica Stouff. In the second half, she beat W&L freshman goalie Courtney Harrison (Richmond, Va./Collegiate) for her second goal of the evening, making the score 2-0.
The Royals' Jonalyn Denlinger added a late goal with 5:32 left in the second half to provide the final margin of 3-0.
For the evening, EMU held a 21-4 advantage in shots over W&L (2-6, 1-3 ODAC).
Harrison made 10 saves in the Generals' net. EMU's Emily Chamelin played all 70 minutes in the Royals' goal, recording one save for the shutout.
The Generals next take the field on Sunday when they host Virginia Wesleyan for a 1:00 pm match.
