W&L Women's Soccer Earns Win At Randolph-Macon Woman's College, 5-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Five members of the Washington and Lee women's soccer team scored goals as the Generals upped their record to 4-1-2 (3-1-1 ODAC) by defeating ODAC-rival Randolph-Macon Woman's College, 5-0, Tuesday at Lynchburg, Va.

The Generals opened up a 3-0 halftime lead with goals coming from sophomore midfielder Romney Willson (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry), freshman midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) and junior forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./Potomac).

Sophomore forward Maggie Hope (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) and senior midfielder Jenny Thomas (High Point, N.C./Central) added goals on the 47th and 80th minute to provide the final 5-0 margin.

Sophomore goalies Abigail Pfeffer (Essex, Conn./Portsmouth Abbey School) and Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) each saw 45 minutes of action in the W&L net, combining to make one save to record the team's third straight shutout.

Wildcats (4-4, 1-4 ODAC) goalie Amy Dameron recorded 13 saves for the afternoon.

The Generals return to action this Saturday when they travel to Rocky Mount, N.C. for a 12:00 pm match with North Carolina Wesleyan.
