W&L Men's Basketball Falls to Bridgewater, 73-53

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Bridgewater ended the first half on a 16-4 run and never looked back in defeating Washington and Lee, 73-53, in ODAC men's basketball action on Tuesday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals (7-17, 4-14) led by seven points (18-11) with 7:30 remaining in the opening stanza before the Eagles used their run to take a 27-22 halftime lead.

W&L fought back to knot the game at 33-33 with 14:56 remaining, but Bridgewater (17-8, 11-7) surged on a 14-2 run over the next 7:45 to take a 12-point lead (47-35) and never trailed by more than 10 points the rest of the way.

The Generals were led by freshman forward Mike Stuart (Warrenton, Va./Fauquier), who tallied 12 points. Sophomore guard Michael Denbow (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) registered a career-high 11 points and six assists, while junior guard Toussaint Crawford (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) added 10 points.

Bridgewater was paced by senior forward Kyle Williford (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road), who notched 19 points and 11 rebounds. Senior guard Matt Stevens (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) and freshman guard Ricky Easterling (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk) added 11 points each.

Washington and Lee will be in action again on Saturday as it takes on top-seeded Randolph-Macon in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament. The eighth-seeded Generals will play the Yellow Jackets at 1:00 pm.
