LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Freshman guard Louisa Feve (Bethesda, Md./Winston Churchill) scored 17 points to lead the Washington and Lee women's basketball team to a 66-51 win over Randolph-Macon Woman's College on Tuesday evening in Lynchburg, Va.
The Generals (1-2, 1-0) led 50-46 with 4:57 remaining in the game, but went on a 16-5 run the rest of the way in claiming their first win of the season.
Feve was one of five double-figure scorers for W&L. Junior forward Sarah Michaels (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) and sophomore guard Bethany Dannelly (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) both scored 12 points, while sophomore forward Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Senior guard Elizabeth Igo (Claymont, Del./Archmere Academy) added 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1-2, 0-1) was led by freshman Meghan Stenrud's 19 points and seven rebounds.
Washington and Lee will return to action on Monday as it hosts Bridgewater for a 6:00 pm contest.
