LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's soccer team dropped its final regular season match of the year, 1-0, to Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon at the W&L Turf Field.
The Eagles (11-6, 5-4 ODAC) scored the lone goal at the 36:55 mark when freshman midfielder Griff Diguardo (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) banged a shot into the W&L net off a free-kick. From that point on, the BC defense, led by junior goaltender Jon Boller's (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) three saves, stymied the Generals' offense.
Despite holding a 17-9 edge in shots, the Generals were unable to convert several scoring opportunities.
Senior goaltender Tim Foley (Darnestown, Md./Georgetown Prep) turned back three shots in the W&L net.
The Generals (7-8-2, 5-4 ODAC) will be back in action this Saturday as they participate in the ODAC Tournament. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
