BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team tied Bridgewater, 1-1, after 90 minutes of regulation and two overtimes on Saturday in Bridgewater, Va.
Sophomore forward Molly Plummer (New Orleans, La./Sacred Heart) staked the Generals (10-1-3, 8-1-2) to a 1-0 lead when she scored off an assist from junior forward Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./Potomac) at the 26:59 mark.
Just 2:26 into the second half, the Eagles (7-4-3, 5-2-2) evened the contest at 1-1 when Sandy Lagana scored off a pass from Jenna Shoaf.
Despite outshooting Bridgewater, 15-2, and holding a 10-2 advantage in corners, W&L was unable to break the deadlock.
Sophomore goalie Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) logged all 110 minutes in the Generals' goal, making one save. Julianne Blevins had eight saves for BC.
W&L will be in action again on Sunday afternoon when it hosts Chowan for 2:00 pm match on the Liberty Hall Fields.
