LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Washington and Lee started the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back in defeating Randolph-Macon Woman's College, 54-39, in ODAC women's basketball action on Wednesday evening in Lynchburg, Va.
The Generals (5-6, 3-4) led 30-15 at the half and pushed their advantage to 44-22 with 8:38 remaining in the contest in cruising to the 15-point win.
Senior center Megan Babst (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) led W&L with 20 points and 12 rebounds. She is now just 25 points from becoming the fourth W&L women's basketball player to eclise 1,000 points for her career.
Senior forward Jessica Mentz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman forward Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) chipped in with 11 points.
The WildCats (0-9, 0-7) were paced by sophomore guard Amy Dameron, who tallied 18 points.
Washington and Lee will be in action again on Saturday afternoon as it travels to Emory & Henry for a 4:00 pm contest.
