WATERLOO, Iowa. --Washington and Lee 184-pound freshman Joe Mueller (San Diego, Calif./Mount Carmel) was disqualified in his first round matchup against fifth-seeded Andy Kazik of Lawrence University at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at Young Arena in Waterloo, Iowa, on Friday afternoon.
Mueller received a bye in the quarterfinal round of the consolation bracket and will face the winner of the Wesley Koteski (Washington & Jefferson)-Nick Hansen (SUNY-Brockport) match tomorrow morning at 11:00 am in the consolation semifinals.
Koteski was pinned by the tournament's top-seed, Jeremy Miller of Wisconsin-Lacrosse in the first round, while Hansen was defeated by the eighth-seed, Wartburg's Sonny Alvarez, 20-8 in round one.
