SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Sweet Briar, 30-14, 30-14, 30-26, on Monday evening.

The Generals (16-3, 6-0) were led by freshman outside hitter Michelle Chastain (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep), who totaled 12 kills and six digs. Senior middle blocker Lindsay Ruckert (Metairie, La./Sacred Heart) added seven kills, while freshman outside hitter Emily Wolfing (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) recorded nine digs and four service aces. Freshman setter Jennifer Lux (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox) amassed 19 assists and seven digs.

The loss dropped Sweet Briar to 8-7 overall, 1-4 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Washington and Lee will return to action on Thursday as it travels to Roanoke College for a 6:30 pm match.
