ROANOKE, VA. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team scored three first half goals and cruised to a 5-2 victory at Hollins (2-8-1, 1-7-1 ODAC) on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior midfielder Jenny Thomas (High Point, N.C./Central) tallied two goals for W&L. The goals were the first two of the season for the co-captain. Senior midfielders Kate Bidwell (Pensacola, Fla./Escambia) and Drew Powers (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School) and freshman forward Maggie Hope (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) all tallied one goal.
Bidwell also tallied two assists on the afternoon. Sophomore forwards Susannah Hewlett (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) and Fontaine Marcoux (Washington, D.C./Potomac) added one assist each.
W&L (9-2, 8-1 ODAC) freshman goalkeepers Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) and Abigail Pfeffer (Essex, Conn./Portsmouth Abbey School) each played 45 minutes in goal.
The Generals return to action on Saturday when they host Carnegie-Mellon at 3:30 pm.
